Rise in the Midst of Despair
When my patient got off the treadmill, I knew he was in trouble, and advised him to undergo an angiogram so we may better assess his coronary arteries. He adamantly refused. Four months later, he was working out at home. His daughter found her dad on the ground face down. Because he was pulseless, CPR was started. 911 arrived and shocked him out of ventricular fibrillation, a rhythm that is incompatible with life.
Once he arrived at the hospital, many deemed him brain dead given the time he was down. I prayed over my patient, asking God to heal him, and in two days he came to by God’s grace! He got his angiogram which showed a 99% blockage of his main coronary artery, which required a bypass. He was terrified about dying on the table…we laughed together…because he had already done that! Today, he is alive and well!
In these perilous times, when our world is shut down, and a tiny virus is causing enormous havoc, it seems like the world is in a ventricular fibrillation rhythm. What can you do to fortify your life? Check your pulse. Check your blood pressure. Get your blood work done. Be cautions. Hydrate. Drop the sugar. Drop the salt. Pick up your Bible. Pray that the Lord Jesus Christ covers you with His strength, safety and Salvation. And in the midst of despair and chaos, rise!
